My ancestor, Jose Miguel Aldrete, was a signer of the Goliad Declaration of Texas Independence (Dec 1835).
In near-freezing temperatures today in 1836, delegates gathered at what Texans know dearly as "Washington-on-the-Brazos" to discuss the future of Texas. The next day roughly 50 delegates would declare Texas a "new republic." God Bless Texas!http://bit.ly/2SDD3Ss
