This week in @HouseScience, I chaired a subcommittee hearing on the development and implementation of @NOAA’s Earth Prediction Innovation Center (EPIC), which was created to consolidate our government’s efforts on weather modeling to make sure it is as accurate as possible.pic.twitter.com/4O8N9yGsjt
At the hearing, we heard from Dr. Neil Jacobs, who I met with last week to reiterate the concerns I had over the role of science at @NOAA, as well as the agency’s budget request to eliminate 110 full-time employees from the @NWShttp://bit.ly/2O8bNwr
We must ensure that the agency has the resources needed to provide accurate weather modeling. Our weather modeling has come a long way but we need to make sure that EPIC is developed successfully so Americans can be confident they have the best weather information possible.
