I was specifically concerned w/ @CommerceGov Secretary Wilbur Ross threatening to fire scientists for not validating President Trump’s bogus claim that Hurricane Dorian was forecasted to hit Alabama, as well as recent budget cuts that called for the cutting of 248 @NWS positions.
Dr. Jacobs & I had a very productive conversation and I look forward to working with him to make sure that Americans across this country can count on the weather only being based on the utmost science, not political whims.
