Today, I’m proud to vote to pass @RepCunningham’s bipartisan H.R. 1941 Coastal and Marine Economies Protection Act. This bill would ban offshore drilling off our Atlantic & Pacific coasts, which has gained support from both Democratic & Republican Governors of coastal states.
I strongly support this bill because not only is offshore drilling incredibly dangerous and potentially toxic to our oceans but it will help us transition towards the #CleanEnergyEconomy and away from our dependence on oil & gas.
This bill is a necessary step in protecting our environment and fighting back against the #ClimateCrisis.
We have recovered from the Valdez spill. I want to move forward not backwards. We can and must continue to learn and explore.
