In order to avoid insurmountable debt, Americans are having to choose between a career that aligns with their values and paying their bills. For this reason, I introduced the Better Service to Borrowers Act with @RepKendraHorn, @RepColinAllred, and @RepKimSchrier.
This bill would ensure that every student gets the best possible counseling & other services to navigate the huge financial burden, they are taking on when pursuing an education.
However, we cannot stop here, we must continue to find ways to combat this crisis so everyone has an equal opportunity at obtaining an education that can lift them up the economic ladder, not knock them down.

Long term we need to contain the cost increases of college and medical care. My boomer generation stood by as college costs rose 10% year after year. Until college is more affordable loans will be debilitating.
