I call upon the Senate to come back early to pass the bipartisan background check legislation of H.R. 8 and H.R. 1112, which the House passed months ago. Congress must also discuss other measures like an assault weapons ban and red flag laws.

Again and again, this status quo fails the American public but President Trump and Senator McConnell are nowhere to be found when it comes time for action.
