29 years ago today, the Americans w/ Disabilities Act was signed into law. This landmark legislation ensured that the 55 million Americans w/ disabilities would no longer face discrimination & have equal opportunity in this country. In Congress, I promise to strengthen the #ADA.

Be careful. Draw too much attention to it and the randomly but consistently cruel Trump administration will look for ways to weaken it.

And yet I cannot get the accommodations I need at my own doctors’ office. And when we call the police in cars parked in Disabled spots we get told to calm down it was just for a few (35) minutes. And people in wheelchairs get left at the curb.

I find that in most places there are so many more disabled parking places than real disabled that they are usually mostly empty. So, if police are in them for a short time because of an emergency, I say, that is rare. But I do see people using them who shouldn't. Needs policing.
