More than 200 of the world’s largest listed companies have forecast that climate change could cost them a combined total of almost $1 trillion, according to a report from the Carbon Disclosure Project.

The bill would require public companies to disclose more information about their exposure to climate-related risks, which will help investors appropriately assess those risks and accelerate the transition from fossil fuels to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

Gosh, why not let free markets handle this ? Why does heavy-handed government need to step in ? If investors are concerned, they will lobby the Boards of Directors accordingly !! This is not rocket science to understand how our Founding principles still apply today...
