Today the @realDonaldTrump administration will begin enforcing the "public charge" rule, a commonsense policy to enforce existing law saying those seeking to legally immigrate to the U.S. should not need welfare or other public benefits and should be able to support themselves.
We need an immigration system that strengthens our country without burdening taxpayers. The public charge rule was previously supported by both parties and prioritizes the interests of hardworking Americans. Thank you @realDonaldTrump for putting America First!
