Many medical conditions are disqualifying (eg, allergies, asthma, legally blind). The US military requires its members to be physically fit, healthy and free of chronic medical conditions that negatively impact operational readiness. Transgenders do not meet this requirement.

Transgenders have health issues that must be addressed outside of military service. Anything less could adversely impact operational readiness and consequently, the security of the entire United States.
