This is a start, but only a small step of a much bigger problem.
Student loans have now surpassed credit cards as the 2nd largest debt category behind mortgages & that’s simply unacceptable. How about a reduction in the interest rate set by Congress. Education loans shouldn’t be 6-7%. Get rid of the $2500 income tax deduction cap when 100% of interest should be tax deductible. Both things would help tremendously!

This is definitely a problem and something needs to be done about it, but there needs to be some accountability for students going to colleges beyond their means and majoring in studies which don't translate into jobs which pay. Will this be addressed in your bill?
