While I never expected to serve in Congress when I interned for Congressman W. S. Stuckey Jr. (D-GA) many years ago, I know beyond a doubt that the experience was invaluable to me in my career and to my interest in public service and civic engagement.
But there are many young people across the country, and in my district, who would like to intern but don’t have the means to do so.
I’m proud to support the House Intern Pay Act, because it’s critical that Congress today, and the Members of Congress of tomorrow, represent diverse backgrounds and experiences. #PayOurInterns
