I fondly remember grilling you at a campaign event (more than once) about your support for LGBTQ folks. You responded well then, and I'm so pleased to see your vote today putting your campaign speech in action. Well done, sir. And thank you.
All Americans deserve to be treated equally under the law. We know that in NY. Unfortunately, elsewhere in the country LGBT people can still be discriminated against for who they are. That's unacceptable. I supported the #EqualityAct to ensure equal protection for all Americans

All Americans do deserve being treated equally. What about the unemployed? They arent protected under the EEOC, & many employers use that as a basis of discrimination and not extending a job offer to a candidate, despite them having the right credentials and interviewing well.

If that means giving the same rights to every group when they didn't have them before, then yes, they are getting additional rights. It's very simple. EVERYONE should have the same rights. Period
