I think use of the word “epidemic” when it comes to gun violence is misleading. It suggests the spread of a virus that does damage through no fault of anyone in particular. That doesn’t help solve the problem.

The violence in your city isn’t assault weapons. It’s gang robbery, violence and hate crimes, mostly sans guns at all.
