The education of Black and brown students is often interrupted because of discriminatory and punitive discipline policies denying children access to the education they deserve. Thats why I'm teaming up with @RepPressley and Rep @Ilhan to introduce the Ending #PUSHOUT act.pic.twitter.com/WXnzLq10uK

The Ending #PUSHOUT Act will disrupt the school-to-prison pipeline and help keep children in the classroom.

To receiving (and delivering) a quality education. Those of us who teach the kids hate it here. Our kids are not being held to (any) standards. The parents aren’t showing up. The kids are woefully unprepared. The education they deserve should have started at home. 2/2

The fathers not being in the home is huge. Rap music I think plays a lil role in behavior because listeners think it’s cool too act how the rappers say they act. Another is the opportunity for new buismess is not in tho community either.

Have you ever been in a classroom? Many of these children need remedial help in reading & math! Children who cannot read by the 4th grade should be in reading classes exclusively until they can read! Advancing them to the next grade is a formula for FAILURE.

It would be great if we could find a representative who fought for all children, as Americans, and ensured they are all treated equally. That would be the first step to unity. Many times this is done due to social status, not skin color.
