This needs to stop. @Ilhan is a dedicated public servant who bravely and faithfully represents her constituents despite near constant threats to her safety. Taking her words out of context and tying her to the 9/11 attacks is callously irresponsible.https://news.yahoo.com/new-york-post-stirs-ilhan-omar-controversy-with-911-cover-144144001.html …

President Bush also called them "people" and even "folks." The key word in Omar's remarks was "some," contrasted with "all" in the next part of the sentence. All Muslims are blamed for something that a (tiny) *some* did. She is right -- and President Bush warned against it too.

I would like to see more members of Congress support her as you are doing.

I was happy when a Muslim woman of color was elected to Congress, but @Ilhan is either stupid or evil in her word choice. I hope it’s the former, but I’m starting to doubt it. If she can’t understand why they’re offensive, she has no business being in Congress.

Yes it needs to stop. She also needs to stop parsing her words so careful so as to calll insult to Americans who lost so much by international terrorism on 9/11. It wasn’t just someone doing something. Surely she said it that way for her own reasons.

Her emphasis did not come through when it was written out. She had been talking about 9/11 and the backlash suffered by Muslims and said, “SOME people did something, and ALL of us were blamed” when you listen to it without bias it’s pretty clear

It wasnt out of context. The clip is easy to find and hear what she said. It simply continues her pattern of anti-American rhetoric and anti-Semitic rhetoric.
