It’s important to acknowledge the role workers played in bringing an end to this shutdown. Be it the countless phone calls to House & Senate offices, the aid given to furloughed workers by their fellow union members or the actions of workers at our airports. They share this win.

Agreed. Also, a lot of non federal workers contacted Congress and the president to end the shutdown. They didn't do this alone.

We received countless calls, emails, and letters from people from all walks of life. People standing up to take part in their democracy. Democracy isn’t confined to Election Day.

I would go further than that Congresswoman. They led this win. They earned this win. Politicians followed through and reaped the fruit of what The People sowed.

It takes a village. Unification. And a powerful knockout punch given by the Honorable Speaker.

If 45 tries another stunt like this, our federal workers must not have to stand alone.
