In addition to reopening the government, we extended the Children’s Health Insurance Plan (CHIP) for six years. This program has nearly 9 million low-income children that rely it, including almost 24,000 children in the 17th Congressional District of Texas.

You could have done that months ago instead of using the children as a bargaining chip. You do not get praise for choosing to do your job now.

.@xoxoxtc Your comments are totally false! We reauthorized and funded CHIP in multiple bills in the Fall of 2017. Each bill passed the House on a bipartisan basis. Unfortunately, the Senate Dems used filibusters to kill all of them. I.e., the House did its job!

Were any of your CHIP bills CLEAN bills, with no amendments, or additional bills attached to them. From my research, the house CHIP bills included language to defund the ACA, making them dead on arrival at the Senate. Can you give me one bill number you sent over that was clean?

@AFBaylorBear Your comments are incorrect. The House passed BIPARTISAN bills in the Fall of 2017 to fully fund govt for FY2018 and to extent CHIP for 5 yrs. Chudk Schumer filibustered them, so we had to pass short term CR’s because of his aims to take hostages.#SchumerShutdown - 1 more reply
