Flores used to be a “Tea Party” guy (remember them)? Steve Mnuchin just came out a few weeks ago and said that we (the USA) will be broke by September. We (the USA) are out of money because the 2017 tax cuts emptied our coffers. Time to cut spending!

We know the asylum rules. The question was about the conditions at the border facilities. Whether or not they have a valid asylum claim is irrelevant to the poor manner in which they're being treated.

The detention centers are overrun at the border because they are privatized. Flores and his Republican buddies are making big money off them at our expense ($750) per head. We, the taxpayer pays that. But, we don’t pay for soap and toothpaste, evidently.

Flores will be talking about the fiscal health of the government next week. Should be interesting coming from a man who bankrupted his oil and gas company in the 1990s to the tune of 10 million dollars and left the federal taxpayer holding the tab.
