Actually, as you well know the law allows for discreet strikes and commando missions ordered by the president. Past that, your repeated lack of concern for both Assad's genocide and his specific use of chemical weapons is appalling.

Point to literally any law that lets the president unilaterally decide to attack a country that hasn’t attacked us first, or that isn’t imminently about to.
-
Article 2 Section 2 combined with the War Powers Act is how the last 5+ presidents have justified doing this exact thing. We literally haven't declared war since WW2.
-
The Presidents incorrectly justify, Congress (consistently) fails to act (because it's their tribal parent) and the people cheer on their tribe. A great explanation of the War Powers Act and why people are getting it wrong...https://twitter.com/justinamash/status/983506478605701120 …

I've read through his explanations and disagree. The easiest way to fix this is to repeal the WPA, all AUMFs, and amend the constitution to more explicitly restrict the power of the POTUS. Simply crying "unconstitutional!" isn't fixing the problem

I didn't say it was likely. Just that it would be the easiest way to fix the problem.

The attack happened the day the investigators from the OPCW, the organisation for prevention of chemical weapons was due to arrive in Syria. He didn’t know dick! How did anyone know without being on the ground

Assad is a criminal who must be stopped dear Rep. We know him first hand.
-
Assad IS a criminal but how does America intervening help the situation? Are Iraq, Afghanistan, and Libya better off now? Almost three decades of rampant American intervention in the Middle East has left the world and America far worse off.
-
-
We had similar and even bigger coalitions going into Iraq, Libya, etc. Again are those countries and America better now? Russia is already in Syria. What happens when a US plane gets shot down? Are you ready to fight WWIII over a suspected chemical weapons attack in Syria?
-
“Suspected” chemical weapons? Are you for real?
-
You are right Steve. He must be eradicated. Anyone who thinks Russia will risk confrontation with it's junk hardware with much superior USA hardware is either a troll or have not been thinking right. Iran and Assad think they are above international law and must be stopped.
-
You are right Russia is ill prepared to fight the US. But they have real strategic interests there. Naval ports, oil, forces already on the ground. Is it worth the risk pushing Russia and Assad into a corner? This is exactly how wars are started.
-
This is the diplomatic part of the issue.russia will negotiate Assad's head for these interests, to try and get what it can, starting with easing the ukranian crisis embargo. The Russians do not feel hurt from losing a battle it losing some hardware. It had always been the case.
