How about solutions. Allow ranchers to slaughter at custom exempt and the sell by the cut or to grocers for in state sale. The USDA is the primary problem to the price discrepancy. ND ranchers/Farmers get 12c for every retail dollar. Thank the USDA for that and Farm Bill

The surge in beef prices was due to the sudden demand creating a short term supply problem. There is a time lag to meet supply but long term the demand will be steady if not decrease as potentially consumers move to cheaper proteins because of decreased cash flow
