I live in an oil and gas state, where many survive by oil and gas. It has provided good income and job stability to many for decades. However it came with a severe and irreversible price. They have lobbied our state to give them free reign with little to no regulation.

The financial benefits pretty much end at the employer level. They give less than little to improve education, and communities (0 estate tax). We are 50th in the country in these areas. They’ve developed our coast and marshes to the point that they’re being lost to...

I am glad to see that Minnesota will be converting their power plants from coal fired to natural gas fired. Coal’s time is declining.
