Millions of Americans will go to the polls today to exercise the most fundamental right in our democracy, the right to vote, but many others will not have time to do so because of work, school or family commitments.

I’ve introduced the Election Day Holiday Act with @RepMcEachin to make Election Day a federal holiday so more Americans have the time they need to vote and participate in our democracy.

I'd much rather see all states allow no-excuses early voting, and make mail in ballots available to anyone who asks. Small biz owners and parents of school age kids would not get a day off with this "holiday" and they vote too.
