Cutting U.S. foreign aid has devastating consequences for communities in need and harms America’s security. I echo the concerns from my colleagues and urge the Administration to listen to the bipartisan opposition to their plan from Congress.
What needs to be cut is all aid to Israel and directed to Palestinians instead. Support for Israel is a moral and national security liability, which prevents us from ending hostilities with Iran, which we instigated by fomenting a regime-change coup in 1953.
