The Sikh American community has made important contributions within our district and across the nation. The tragedy at Oak Creek was not only an attack on the Sikh American community, but also an attack on our shared American values of tolerance and religious freedom.
I have worked closely with the Sikh American community & I am dedicated to promoting equality for all. Whether it is a gurdwara in Oak Creek, a mosque in Bellevue, or a church in Charleston, we must always speak out against prejudice and violence against any faith or community.
