The overall goal of foreign aid is to make sure that there hopefully at some point are no countries in the world that can’t provide for their people, to go after poverty, to reduce it wherever we can. And there are a lot of different projects that are important to foreign aid.

Certainly global health, education, direct assistance all play a crucial role. But I would submit that nothing is more important than enabling these countries to develop their own economy by giving them the capital they need to grow, so that they become self-sustaining partners.
