News of the ongoing hunger strike at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, WA is extremely concerning. We know that our immigration detention system is in shambles, and that reforms are long overdue.

Our current system is inhumane, unjust, and driven by private, for-profit corporations like The GEO Group, which operates the Northwest Detention Center.
