News of the ongoing hunger strike at the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, WA is extremely concerning. We know that our immigration detention system is in shambles, and that reforms are long overdue.

This came after detained people in Tacoma went on a nearly two-month hunger strike at the Northwest Detention Center over lack of access to nutritious food, solitary confinement and isolation practices, cruel treatment by guards, and other unacceptable living conditions.
