    The practice of separating children from parents as a deterrent to seeking asylum is inhumane & cruel. Seeking asylum is not illegal, in fact, it is written into US immigration laws to ensure that those w/a credible fear of persecution can present their case.

    In 2017, there were at least 3 confirmed miscarriages in detention. More have been reported. We need a more humane, more just system. Our Dignity for Detained Immigrants Act with would release detained pregnant women and restore accountability to detention.
