In 2004, my daughter was born 3 months premature. This was before ACA did away with lifetime coverage caps. I'd been paying for coverage bi-weekly through payroll deduction w/my employer. I received $80,000 in bills for her birth. I asked if they were going to reposses my child.

Good lord! The most dispiriting thing about a waiting room for expectant parents is going in thinking people will be asked “how are you doing?” and hearing instead “where is your insurance card?” then negotiations for prenatal care based on coverage. Hope she is thriving today.

Thanks And yep, she's doing great I know the ACA isnt perfect, but it helped so many of us and was a huge step in the right direction. I consider it a blessing
