All officials with a security clearance should atomaticly loose them when their employment has ended period.

Your argument is based on the fallacy that our intelligence and foreign relations teams would rely on an individual who was FIRED. Regardless of political views, it makes sense to revoke his security clearance. You don’t need a security clearance to be a news pundit!

It has been explained that security clearances traditionally remain in effect so that those persons who retain historically valuable information and opinion, due to their prior duties, will be readily available for future consultation.
