In 2008, Senator McCain had secured the Republican nomination before the Texas primary. At the same time, Rush Limbaugh was encouraging Republicans to vote in Democrat primaries to make them last longer – he called it Operation Chaos.

Just like Congressman Bill Flores, and tens of thousands of other staunch Republicans, I participated in Operation Chaos. And it worked! In fact, it was so successful that we are seeing Republicans across the country do the same thing this year to prolong the Democrat primary.
