I am going to retweet the hell out of this. SEIU created a “national bargaining committee” to negotiate w/Uber & Lyft.
But there is no bargaining unit! This is top-down, business unionism.

quick q: is SEIU generally known to take stances in line with the tradition of business unionism? really asking this out of my own ignorance!

Their structure leans more toward centralization at the top (like how they own Workers United and several companies that assist with local organizing) but tactics and opinions vary local by local. Dissent from the international tends to be expunged quietly and efficiently.
