Getting those subs seem to be the small hurdle, it's those damn hours.
Yeah my channel’s already screwed on that front, but at least this way the surge in numbers on smaller channels might show YouTube that the way to support and protect the community is to listen to the community.

What I dislike is that these requirements are just to be considered. Imagine getting the subs and busting your ass to get those hours just to be rejected because someone don't like your content and don't 'feel' it's suitable.

Exactly, that's why I'm moving to Patreon to earn money. I just preemptively removed all ads from my videos.
