My father was granted release on parole today, after more than 40 years in prison!

As a society we need to be open to the fact that people can change, that they can be rehabilitated or reformed, or that at the very least they can do their time and be treated with dignity when they rejoin society.

Fortunately our justice system is based on laws, rather than the opinions of Twitter randos. Those laws said he was eligible for parole, he paid his debts, and is now free.

It’s worth noting that he was an unarmed, nonviolent participant in a robbery. If you’re willing to go by the law that says he’s a murderer for being there, the law also says he’s paid his debts.
