Over the long term, this is totally unsustainable for TX Republicans unless they can reverse their backslide w/ suburban professionals in major metros. The only question is whether 2020 is the tipping point, and right now it's a close call.
The major determinant of the presidential race in TX, in my opinion, will be Dem turnout/performance in low-income Hispanic areas *without* Whole Foods Markets. That's why I'll be watching targeting of Dem ads/high-profile visits in places like RGV, Laredo etc. in next 16 days.

Joe has Whole Foods. Those would be metro areas. He needs the rural areas and small towns like Midland/Odessa, Abilene, Lubbock. The Bible Belt. He also needs the really rural areas where there are no big market stores at all, for miles. He needs the oil industry. It's a lot!
There are really very few people in Rio Grande Valley. Hidalgo & Cameron had barely over 250 K votes in 2016, less than Denton alone.
I live in the RGV, in Cameron. It's a turnout problem, not a population problem, and registered voters have increased in the last 4 years. And per the Texas Tribune, Hidalgo and El Paso counties are showing the same massive early vote trends as the rest of the state.
#Bloomberg's florida like effort in #texas a month ago would have secured re-coloring of texas to #blue.
IMHO Bet's win was stolen. Beto was beloved by the nation. Cruz couldn't get that level of devotion from his own family. The results defied logic on election night Bottom line: Texas voting machines are corrupt. As are Florida, Ohio and Georgia.
