Defunding the police isn't the answer. We need them. That being said, why do they make so much money? Soldiers don't make that much. Teachers literally care for the children of these men and women...why is it ok to cut a school's budget but not the police force's?

Defunding the police means taking money from bloated police budgets and directing it to pay for jobs that we shouldn't have police doing, and not giving them the budgets to buy military gear. Defund isn't abolish, though some want a root and branch approach for sure.

He has explicitly said that he is against that stupid “defund the police” line repeatedly. What does he have to do? Bear hug every police officer that he can find? Stick to numbers and stop playing political pundit.

let’s give even more money to police while we push every other aspect of local budgets into austerity. A genius move. Now poverty is criminalized even more and more people will be in poverty! Incredible! Freedom!
