I've never seen anything quite like it: so far in 2018 Dem primaries w/ at least one woman, one man & no incumbent on the ballot, women have won the most votes 59/84 times (70%).

Meanwhile, so far in 2018 GOP primaries w/ at least one woman, one man & no incumbent on the ballot, women have won the most votes 8/21 times (38%). BUT, GOP women did have a terrific night last night, winning 5/7 of these races, including in competitive #CA39, #CA49 & #NM02.

my understanding is that this sort of ratio isn't at all unusual in dem primaries. All else being equal, women have had the advantage in dem primaries for some time now, I believe.

It's been my lifelong practice that when I am unfamiliar with the candidates of a lower office, pick the Dem woman.
