A day in the tattooist's chair today, for some well earned peace and quiet. I will be thinking a lot about the journey I have in front of me this year, and what I need to do to achieve my goal. There is haribo as well. Lots of haribo. 🍬

Great, been awake since 2.24am which makes my drive over to Sheffield for an all day meeting even more fun. What I really want is a full day of CTFs!

Having a few hours of wargames tonight. Finished the last 10 levels of Bandit (after a long break!) last night, tackling Natas tonight. Lots of fun, pew pew! Might write up some thoughts on Bandit.🤓

Can anyone tell me why in in Python, printr( "string") satisfies netcat's need for a response in "chat" mode, but in Bash, echo "string" doesn't? I've tried using newline characters in the latter but it doesn't buy it! 🤔

Last night, after a great day of outdoors AFK, I spent several hours reading through blogs () about her HTB journey and I love the content & format. I'm about to start my HTB journey so this was great reading. Good luck for OSCP Rana! 🤞😃

Over the years, I've worn a Fez (11th Doctor FTW) when doing site launches/updates, direct-to-server changes and anything else a bit "dangerous". Currently debating whether to wear a Fez when I start doing CTFs properly (in Feb) or go for some new headwear. 😂🧢

Coming to the conclusion that Python doesn't require a whole lot of work to master. It's a side-step from Bash, and very similar (at least conceptually) to most of what I've been writing all my career. Going to script exclusively in Python wherever possible moving forward!

Beating your ego is one of the best things about learning. The penny has just dropped regarding a particular bit of networking knowledge that I'm embarrassed to not have picked up a long time ago. However, I'm now armed with that knowledge and have improved compared to yesterday!

If you're a space nerd like I am, you'll love the "13 Minutes to the Moon" podcast. I'm five episodes in, and it's great. Hans Zimmer even scored the theme tune!

Breaking ground on Practical Ethical Hacking course tonight; exciting times! Even though I am covering these topics in other books and videos, there is no harm in getting some overlap for filling in gaps and getting different angles! 🤓👨‍💻

The wife and I are starting tonight. Yet another show that is very much my thing, but that I am fashionably late to. Pretty relevant for me right now too 😂 Opening scene of episode one has set the tone pretty well 😎

If you're conducting Twitter searches for things such as ongoing Iraq/Iran developments, or just any kind of search in general, and you want to cut out the low-level noise, fake accounts etc, include "filter:verified" (without quotes) to see verified accounts only. Big help!

Wry smile on my face this morning while I'm using nmap extensively to get to the bottom of a hosting/networking issue in my day job. 😃

I've been speaking to the suspected hackers. I repeatedly asked for proof that they are behind it. Eventually they sent me this incredible video as visual evidence they are the gang. 'This should be proof enough', they said... 😂

I really hope that when the breaks out that they do it the old school way and dump information on eachother on Pastebin with some cool ASCII art.
