Also the false promise of “not arresting sex workers” does not apply to migrants. Under the Sex Worker Dehumanization Model (aka “Equality Model”) in Sweden, sex workers have lost custody of their children to violent partners. In Ireland, they’ve not received any promised social services. In France, work has been made much more dangerous pushed underground.
The problem with criminalizing the purchase of sex is, like prohibition of alcohol, it puts power in hands of organized crime. It creates crime. Criminalizing any aspect of sex trade also makes labor organizing illegal. If you really care about traffick, support SW labor rights
