Barrister. Understands & respects the scientific method. Very concerned about the trajectory humanity is currently on. Neoliberalism’s a big part of the problem

The Australian of the year (who is a medical professional) calls for a sugar tax to help reduce its terrible impacts The “Health” Minister rules it out after squeals from vested interests who would make less profit

How can we be unified when we have idiots on the government benches in Canberra whose raison d’être is to prop up the fossil fuel industry?

This is why this issue shouldn’t go away - pork barrelling needs to stop once and for all...but first this government needs to actually recognise that it is happening. Currently it is not

The body language of when purporting to summarise the “report” (that he is concealing) was extraordinary . Zero eye contact and clearly flustered. The stench goes way beyond

“desensitised” to it This is EXACTLY why we need an independent Federal with teeth. The legitimacy of government is currently being undermined 2/2

Interesting to hear on ’s show on In substance he: 1. Acknowledged that the use of taxpayers’ funds to target seats that the hoped to win at the last election was inappropriate 2. Said that it happens all the time and he has become 1/2

Fascinating to look back at these minutes The suggestion that it’s a noisy minority opposing big development on ex-Alcoa land in is untrue - surveys show it’s a clear majority.

Unusually, The Australian has published a robust, authoritative article by an actual scientist, open access. The visceral response by their normal readership (>125 comments) shows how misinformed they have been for many years.

“Bridget McKenzie Is Symptom..”⁩ Yet again you’re allowing apologists to trivialise these egregious as “both sides do it”. Untrue. This cynicism exceptionally harmful. Why not ? Or invite only the INFORMED?

Unsatisfactory to hear treating ’s claims about what the report prepared by his department head allegedly says as fact. We haven’t seen the report and the PM has shown time and again that he has an uneasy relationship with the truth

How can Australians be confident that the so-called report said to have been provided by the head of ’s own department should be given any weight? It’s being concealed and it is at odds with the independent Auditor General’s report

It seems to me that an Office of Animal Protection-to take over the roles of agencies under-resourced & constrained by lax legislation-is warranted given the ongoing abuse, neglect and contempt of animals shown by those in the 2% of the pop’n who don’t care/get off on killing

Australia’s plan for reducing emissions: ramp up fossil fuel production How about a rapid and planned transition to a low carbon economy instead? Locking in new long term gas projects is not a transition.

. Can you please publicly release the report by the head of your department secretary Phil Gaetjens. Australians are entitled to see exactly what his brief was, any assumptions that he made and his process of reasoning

Opening new gas fossil fuel reserves and requiring Vic to keep highly polluting coal plants open longer will obviously increase emissions. If this is a climate policy, it is a policy to make climate change worse
