I ran for people like the woman who wanted to volunteer but couldn't, because she works 7 days a week. The homeless man with a felony who said he'd register to vote for me, after I told him he was legally allowed to. The senior living on $750 a month with rent that's $650.
I urge Rep. Kilmer to reject lobbyist and corporate PAC money from now on. He doesn't need it, and it will enable him to better represent the people I just mentioned — and our entire district.
His below-50% result in this primary suggests there is frustration with Rep. Kilmer. People are tired of representation that doesn’t lead but follows, that flip-flops on core issues like Social Security, and that refuses to support life-saving policies like Medicare for All.
I will write more about our results once all the votes are counted, but in the meantime, thank you to all my supporters, volunteers, and donors. You put in hundreds & thousands of hours on Zoom and the phones. We didn't get the result we wanted, but I'm proud of our campaign.
