Many feel that elected officials do everything they can to stop you from getting the help you need — to create commissions and cut Social Security. There's a common feeling that politicians need to "sit or get off the pot" and really represent our interests.
Without Social Security, many seniors would be penniless. I was told about one person living on only $300 a month. The other $300 she gets goes to her supplemental (Medicare).
One senior said, "These moderates need to fight back against Republicans trying to liquidate Social Security." I agree. Democrats like Derek Kilmer should not join Republicans in calling for Social Security cuts. I will fight to expand Social Security. Never to cut it.
