They’re vacant because of politicians like you. lol
For every homeless person in my district, there are 14 vacant homes. This is outrageous. It's time for a vacancy tax. It's time to de-commodify housing. It's time to treat housing as a human right. It's time for the federal government to invest billions in housing our people.

Me, too. It sounds perfect. I’m assuming it needs to be a significant tax to be effective. That is, it has to be uncomfortable. I’m going to read more about it.

The ‘tax’ should be 1 tax deductible donated apt or hotel suite per apt/hotel/motel per 40(?)units. At ratio at which they leave them vacant (1:30? 1:40?...) in order to collect more tax rebates. Charge per diem tax for ea. left undonated to homeless person/family. Cops collect!

We should close all of the tax loopholes that allow folks to disproportionately benefit from real state speculation. As I've heard many times "the tax code was written by real state people"
