A word on party platforms: single-payer healthcare is in the WA Dem Party platform. Derek Kilmer opposes single payer, yet the state party has done everything they can to stack the deck in Kilmer's favor & against me. Forgive me if I think platforms & task forces are pageantry.

As someone who was heavily involved in writing the current WA Dems platform I completely concur with this assessment. It’s meaningless window dressing to sell to progressives, but there are ZERO accountability measures. In fact, I’ve been told by party insiders “no one cares”

Why make it a state bill that makes it illegal for companies to profit selling insurance. Everything has to be at medicaid prices. Regulate pay of health workers with $25/hr being minimum or something

If we only did that, insurance companies would go bust and much of the country would lose their insurance. That would have to be paired with a public option at the *very* least.
