My first political memory is the Berlin Wall falling. What’s yours?

Only time I ever met Obama, he was 5 or so ~ we have relatives in common on his mother's side. Little did I know, that little boy would one day be President.

I also remember the end of the Vietnam War, but it's not as clear.

I got my drivers permit in 1979, and got gas on the way home, and pulled out with the nozzle still in, and broke the hose.
I was in Berlin when the Wall fell. It's certainly my most significant early political memory.
I was an exchange student at Lancaster University in England at the time. I remember people knocking on everyones dorm room doors and running down the halls “The Wall’s Come Down”.
