There is 0 accountability for electeds. We need a member-driven, mass org that runs candidates — and publicly withdraws support if they sell out. The candidates should agree not just on policy but also on strategy & tactics for building power once they’re in. What do you think?
I’m imagining an org of dues-paying members who vote on candidates — candidates and org leaders wouldn’t simply declare that new candidates have been added. The membership would be the deciding body.
I’m not thinking a third party, but rather people who would run as Dems. I think this is the fastest way to achieve power for a Green New Deal before 2030. Progressives can’t keep caving for us to achieve that. Climate change isn’t going to wait for a strategy that takes decades.
@NatProgParty is getting started in a dozen or more states, with ample electoral success in Vermont!
At the local level this is how DSA works. Nationally it's more of a mess (but for reasons that make sense imo).
That said I think inside-outside is always going to lead to successful candidates having to play politics and betray their principles some of the time in the same way communists living under capitalism need bank accounts. It's impossible to avoid bc the system is built that way.

So people who can pay to be on this committee decides for the voters what is in their best interest? I don’t know what you’re trying to suggest by this, or how it would even work in our democratic process. But from what you’ve tweeted, I don’t like it.
