I’m imagining an org of dues-paying members who vote on candidates — candidates and org leaders wouldn’t simply declare that new candidates have been added. The membership would be the deciding body.

There is 0 accountability for electeds. We need a member-driven, mass org that runs candidates — and publicly withdraws support if they sell out. The candidates should agree not just on policy but also on strategy & tactics for building power once they’re in. What do you think?

I’m not thinking a third party, but rather people who would run as Dems. I think this is the fastest way to achieve power for a Green New Deal before 2030. Progressives can’t keep caving for us to achieve that. Climate change isn’t going to wait for a strategy that takes decades.

This is a great idea. Something to replace party affiliation as the main determining factor that garners voter support for candidates and instead focuses on policy positions and legislative performance.
