RELIEF FOR THE PEOPLE, NOT BAILOUTS FOR BILLIONAIRES.
Here's what coronavirus relief must look like:
Suspend rent and mortgage payments. Do NOT make them due later. #rentzero
Ban evictions.
$2K cash / month minimum to adult in America.
Medicare for All.
House the homeless in empty hotel rooms.
Federal government should pay payroll, so people don't have to go on unemployment, which is a life-altering event and can take years to recover from.
Protect our civil liberties. No crisis fascism.
Increase unemployment benefits to those already unemployed.
Universal paid sick and medical leave.
Cancel medical and student debt.
PPE FOR ALL HEALTHCARE & ESSENTIAL WORKERS.
If nobody pays their rent, the landlords will lose their properties eventually. These landlords are not all rich; many have most of their assets in a building or two.
Which is why we should actually invest in public housing.
