What if the people collecting rents have mortgages?
Freeze them interest-free for 6 months or whatever. But only on the condition that they cancel rent.
Freeze credit reporting.
Permanently!!
Or the government could pay the rent. And pay the mortgages. And avoid an economic downward spiral.
And do it for good! Landlords are parasites! Banks are bourgeois institutions!
